Reservation Policy:-

 

v Persons representing groups of individuals or companies based or operating in Ethiopia are required to deposit 50% of the total invoice price upon reservation and sign an agreement of full liability in the event reservation is partially or completely cancelled.

v Companies not having offices in the country must transfer the booking fees to the Resort’s account via Western Union or bank transfer.

v If there are less than thirty days left to the date of the event/arrival the time of reservation/booking, full payment must be effected immediately.

v Individuals requesting group reservations (≥ 10 rooms) are required to deposit 100% of the total invoice upon confirmation.

v Payments can be made with cash, cheque (company cheques only), bank transfers, credit card (VISA or Master card only) at the time of reservation/confirmation.

Cancellation/Change Date policy:-

v Cancellation and/or Change Date policies apply only to confirmed reservations (i.e. deposits have been made).

v A confirmed reservation/booking is defined as one which the resort has confirmed to the customer that the requested room (s) is/are available and the customer has secured the reservation by providing a guarantee letter, a credit card charge, cash payment or thru transfer deposit.

v Any cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival date are subject to a $250.00 cancellation fee.

v Any cancellations with less than 30 days to the event date shall forfeit the full deposited amount.

v Postponement requests may be considered without penalty if the request is received at least 15 days before the event date.

v If postponement request is made with less than 15 days left, 25% of the total quotation amount will be charge in order to offset inconveniences and missed bookings.

v Deposits made for a reservation that is either not cancelled at least 30 days prior to or is not postponed at least 15 days before arrival date are 100% non-refundable.

v In the event a group has made reservations but is not able to travel to the resort due to circumstances beyond its control, and presents such in writing to the resort at least 15 days prior to arrival date, the resort may provide alternative dates at its own discretion.

v NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY DEPARTURES; NO EXCEPTIONS.

v The resort reserves the right to cancel any booking for circumstances beyond its control. In such cases full deposited amount will be refunded.

 

No - Shows:-

v Any and all payments made are nonrefundable and contractual agreements are binding on customers that are “No - Show” on the expected date of arrival.

v If an individual or a company made a group reservation and the group fails to show up partially or fully on event date, full function price including applicable taxes will be charged.

Planning your reception:

At Kuriftu, we can help you plan your customize wedding and organize all aspects of the arrangement to your full satisfaction Our wedding consultants at Kuriftu Resort and Spa are proud to give you detailed information required for planning your wedding at our unique and first of its kind Resort.

 

The arrangements:

Kuriftu has spacious bungalows, a complete spa, Bar and Restaurant and other recreational facilities. The restaurant with the deck overlooking Lake Kuriftu has capacity to accommodate 200 persons. Additional seating spaces can be set up in our standard tents each with a capacity of 80 persons. The location of the tents is designed to have a magnificent view of Lake Kuriftu.  Rest assured your guests will enjoy the attractions of our resort and will go home with living memories of your wedding.

Kuriftu Resort and Spa offers a variety of function areas. However, we recommend that maximum number of guest be between 250 and 300 including outdoor reception (tents). Initially you will have to decide on the date and time of the ceremony, number of guests, and types of services and facilities you will need. The nature of the wedding ceremony- whether its lunch, dinner or cocktail reception, and the size and scope of the reception are also key concerns that must be decided on early. Once these factors are known, you will be required to make reservation for all of the rooms available at the resort (currently 37) and the preparation can proceed.

 

Complementary accommodation:

Brides and Grooms that hold their wedding receptions at the Kuriftu Resort and Spa will receive complimentary accommodation (suite) for the night, spa services (Steam, Sauna, Jacuzzi), and breakfast. It’s highly recommended to schedule your Spa services appointment before your arrival.

Bridal Services:

We offer full bridal packages that we can arrange for you through our renowned sister company “The Boston Day Spa” in Addis Ababa. A team of highly professional hair designers and makeup artists stand ready to take care of all the worry and headache that searching for a professional bridal service can cause.

 

Please advise the special events manager to set up a consultation meeting with your bridal package professionals. If you decide on Boston day Spa, we recommend that you make reservations as early as possible as such services get usually booked out months ahead. 

 

Flower arrangements and decorations:

Our professional florist can take care of your needs for flower arrangements and decorations. Alternatively, you may also bring your own florist for your flower arrangements and other decorations.

 

Music:

Kuriftu Resort has its own professional DJ and a music band can be arranged for you if so desired.  We can arrange for various types of music you may wish for your reception: discotheques, full band, pianists, etc.  You may also hire your own music band and set-up the sound system for your reception accordingly.

 

Deposit:

To confirm your reservation and hold the spaces for your reception, a deposit of at least 50% is required at the time of your booking. Settlement of the remaining balance is required at least 10 days before the event date. An extra deposit of ETB 25,000.00 is required for incidentals and unforeseen consumptions. Any unused amount from such a deposit will be refunded to you at checkout.

 

 

 

 

Options:

We offer various options from which you can pick the one that suits your needs the most. Should you need something rather different, we will gladly work with you to customize the options according to what fits you the most. Regular options offered are:

  • Space Allocation – Hall Rent, Bungalows and complementary services.

Menu:

Our Buffet setup includes international as well as traditional dishes. Other choices can be arranged upon request. The resort also offers set menu full course international dishes including desserts. A special Barbecue may also be arranged upon request.

 

Wedding Cakes:

We can arrange for expertly baked and superbly decorated wedding cakes for only Birr 250.00 per Kilogram. You are also welcome to arrange for your own wedding cakes.

 

Bar Facilities:

We will set up a bar(s) for your wedding function. All drinks are charged on consumption by prior arrangement with the client i.e. full bar (spirits, beer, wine and soft drinks)

 

 

Liquor:

All kinds of liquor except wine and beer can be provided by prior arrangement against a corkage fee of Birr 100 per bottle/liter.

Tej and other local traditional drinks will be charged at 50 Birr per bottle unless agreed otherwise. Please also see the section that describes Corkage fees.

 

Beverages from the resort:

Soft drinks are provided at Birr 15, Mineral Water at Birr 8, local Beer at Birr 20 and imported beer 30 Birr per bottle.

 

Attendees:

Your final guaranteed attendees figure is due at least 10 working days prior to the Wedding/event date. This is theoretically the number for which you will be financially liable. Should this number increase after wards, the additional charges will be added to your final bill.

Our room rate is seasonal and subject to change depending on the type of room and the view it has. For complete information about room rates, please contact the front desk or your event manager

 

Set – up:

All weddings at the Kuriftu Resort & Spa will be inclusive of the following services:

  • Linen
  • Tables (round, rectangular or traditional)
  • Complimentary Room with Spa services for the Bride and Groom; Breakfast next morning for all resident guests.

 

Extra beds:

Extra beds (maximum 20) can be provided at Birr 300.00/bed for adults. Beds are provided free of charge for children under 12 years old.
