At Kuriftu we are fully committed to making your wedding the most cherished and memorable event it needs to be. While each wedding is unique and is customized in its own way, the following is general overview of wedding arrangements at our state–of-art Resorts. Most, if not all, policies stated for the facility in Debre-Zeit (Bishoftu) also apply in Bahir Dar with the notable exceptions listed at the end.

PLANNING YOUR RECEPTION

We here by at Kuriftu Resort and Spa are proud to give you detailed information about planning your wedding at our unique and first of its kind Resort. Where Customized wedding arrangements can be organized to your satisfaction.

THE ARRANGEMENTS

Kuriftu has 92 spacious bungalows, a complete spa, Bar and Restaurant and other recreational facilities. The restaurant, overlooking Lake Kuriftu has the capacity to accommodate maximum of 500 persons. The set up have a magnificent view of Lake Kuriftu. The attractions of the resort invite your guests to enjoy the wedding and feature memories.

Initially you have to decide on the specific date and time of the ceremony, number of your guests, and types of services and facilities you need to use. Kuriftu Resort and Spa offers a variety of function areas.

The key concern is the nature of the wedding ceremony- whether it is lunch, dinner or a cocktail reception and, the size and scope of the reception.
You are required to make reservations for minimum of 400 attendee and 37 bungalows. Currently we have 92 bungalows

COMPLIMENTARY ACCOMMODATION

On booking your wedding at the Kuriftu Resort and Spa, the bride and groom are entitled to complimentary overnight accommodation on the night of the wedding and one night free over night stay at one of the other Kuriftu Resorts.

WEDDING PACKAGE COMPLIMENTARY OVER NIGHT

We provide complimentary Steam/Sauna and reflexology as well as buffet breakfast.
You are required to schedule your spa appointment before your arrival.

Full Bridal Package at Boston Day Spa

We provide free full bridal service including Manicure, Pedicure, Aromatherapy massage, Facial, Morocco bath, Full body wax, Bridal hairdo and Makeup for the bride and the groom at Boston day spa in Addis Ababa. Our hair designers, Makeup artists are known and professionals.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS AND DECORATIONS

You would be welcome to make your own arrangements or we will recommend you flower decoration professionals.

MUSIC

You are welcome if you bring own choice or we will recommend you up on your request.

DEPOSIT

At the time of booking a deposit of 50% and total amount of the pro-forma invoice is required to settle two months before the event date. Additional 35,000ETB refundable extra deposit for any incidentals should be settled at the time of payment.

Our bar will be specially set up for your wedding function. All drinks are charged on consumption by prior arrangement with the client i.e. full bar (spirits, beer, wine and soft drinks)

LIQUOR

All kinds of liquor can be provided by prior arrangement against a corkage fee of Birr 200 per bottle/liter except Spanish wine.

BEVERAGES FROM THE RESORT

Small Water Birr 15, Soft drink Birr 15, local Beer Birr 25.

ATTENDEES

Your final guaranteed attendance figure is due to 20 working days prior to the Wedding date. This is the number for which you will be financially obligated. If numbers should increase and we are required to serve more food and beverages you will be charged accordingly.

Our room rate is seasonal.

LAKE TANA

• Minimum number of 30 person.

Conference, Wedding & Individual reservations and cancelation resort policies

Individual Reservation

• The payment is non refundable in case of no show on the expected arrival date and time.
• All room rates are based on double, single and family occupancy, for additional person between the ages of 12-17 we charge you USD 37.50 per person.
• No cancellation is entertained once the booking has been made and the payment has been effected, however, in some circumstances if the traveler is unable to travel to the resort cancellation and postponement of the booking can be made provided that the traveler makes the notice 72 hours/3 days/ a head of his/her arrival date.
• Kuriftu resort and spa – Debre Zeit Cheek in is after 2:00PM and check out is at 11:00AM
• Kuriftu resort and spa – Lake Tana cheek in is after 1:00PM and check out is at 11:00AM
• Buffet Breakfast starts at both resorts from 6:00 AM – 10:00AM.
• The above reservation policy applies for bookings reserving three or less rooms.

Extra Bed and Person Policy

• Room rates are based on double, single and family occupancies.

1. Members
Only three children under age of 12 can be accommodated with the parent’s room providing below extra bed and person Policy.

1. We Provide free Bed and breakfast for children under age of six.
2. We provide a maximum of two free extra beds per room for child under 12 years.
3. A child above six years will be charged any type of Meal. Discounts are not applicable in any food and beverage services.
4. For a child between the age of 12-17 can be accommodated with a 25% membership discount i.e. USD 30.00.
5. Children above 18 years will be assumed as adults and is not allowed to stay in one room with extra bed.
6. Children more than three (four & more) should be accommodated on family rooms. The parents should reserve a family room as a policy.

2. For Non Members
Only three children under age of 12 can be accommodated with the parent’s room providing below extra bed and person Policy.

Conference Reservation and Cancellation Policy

• Persons representing groups of individuals or companies based or operating in Ethiopia are required to deposit 50% of the total invoice price upon reservation and sign an agreement of full liability in the event reservation is partially or completely cancelled.
• Companies not having offices in the country must transfer the booking fees to the Resort account via Western Union or bank transfer.
• If there are less than thirty days left to the date of the event/arrival the time of reservation/booking, full payment must be effected immediately.
• Individuals requesting group reservations (10 rooms) are required to deposit 100% of the total invoice upon confirmation.
• Payments can be made with cash, cheque (company cheques only), bank transfers, credit card (VISA or Master card only) at the time of reservation/confirmation.

Cancillation / Change Date Policy

• Cancellation and/or Change Date policies apply only to confirmed reservations (i.e. deposits have been made).
• A confirmed reservation/booking is defined as one which the resort has confirmed to the customer that the requested room (s) is/are available and the customer has secured the reservation by providing a guarantee letter, a credit card charge, cash payment or thru transfer deposit.
• Any cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival date are subject to a $250.00 cancellation fee.
• Any cancellations with less than 30 days to the event date shall forfeit the full deposited amount.
• Postponement requests may be considered without penalty if the request is received at least 15 days before the event date.
• If postponement request is made with less than 15 days left, 25% of the total quotation amount will be charge in order to offset inconveniences and missed bookings.
• Deposits made for a reservation that is either not cancelled at least 30 days prior to or is not postponed at least 15 days before arrival date are 100% non-refundable.
• In the event a group has made reservations but is not able to travel to the resort due to circumstances beyond its control, and presents such in writing to the resort at least 15 days prior to arrival date, the resort may provide alternative dates at its own discretion.
• NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY DEPARTURES; NO EXCEPTIONS.
• The resort reserves the right to cancel any booking for circumstances beyond its control. In such cases full deposited amount will be refunded.

No - Shows

• Any and all payments made are nonrefundable and contractual agreements are binding on customers that are No - Show on the expected date of arrival.
• If an individual or a company made a group reservation and the group fails to show up partially or fully on event date, full function price including applicable taxes will be charged.

Wedding Arrangement resort policy

Kuriftu currently has 38 spacious bungalows a complete spa, Bar and Restaurant and other recreational facilities. The restaurant, overlooking Lake Kuriftu has the capacity to accommodate maximum of 500 persons. The set up have a magnificent view of Lake Kuriftu. The attractions of the resort invite your guests to enjoy the wedding and feature memories.

Initially you have to decide on the specific date and time of the ceremony, number of your guests, and types of services and facilities you need to use. Kuriftu Resort and Spa offers a variety of functional areas.

The key concern is the nature of the wedding ceremony- whether it is lunch, dinner or a cocktail reception and, the size and scope of the reception. You are required to make reservations for minimum of 38 bungalows as a policy.

DEPOSIT POLICY

• At the time of booking a deposit of 50% of the pro-forma amount must be settled and total amount of the pro-forma invoice must be settled in two months ahead of time before the wedding date. Including the additional ETB 35,000 refundable extra deposit for any incidentals should be settled at the time of 100% payment.
• If the booking request has less than two months, 100% of the total amount of the invoice and 35, 000.00 ETB extra deposits should be settled during the booking.
• Finally both parties (Kuriftu resort & spa and wedding planner) will sign an contract agreement.
